"Master Moberly started as a white belt
with the american Taekwondo Association in 1980
in Lexington, Ky. In 1983 he achieved the rank
of 1st Degree Blackbelt and became an assistant
instructor shortly thereafter. 1985 came and he
tested for and achieved the rank of 2nd Degree
Blackbelt. It wasn't until 1986 that he would
decide to start his 1st ATA club. Just 2 short
years later he tested and passed all the
requirements to become a 3rd Degree Blackbelt.
1989 was a memorable year and saw Master Moberly
receive the dedication and loyalty award from
Eternal GrandMaster H.U. Lee 1991 also marked a
special year for him because he attended
Instructor Camp in Korea.
In 1993 he achieved the rank of 4th Degree
Blackbelt and in 1997 he reached the rank of 5th
Degree Blackbelt. 2000 signified a tremendous
accomplishment because it was the year that he
was appointed to the National Instruction Staff
making him responsible for "Instructing the
Instructors" nationwide. A short time later
Master Moberly received his blue collar stripe
to go over his black collar stripe. This stripe
is a culmination of years of dedication and
perseverance and is a special award for him. It
represents that he tested over 1300 students in
a calendar year.
In 2002 he successfully tested for his 6th
Degree and in June of 2003 received the title of
"Master Instructor". But more than anything else
in the ATA Master Moberly values his family and
his students.
